Compensation & Benefits
Average total annual compensation is approximately $655,000, including:
$501,833 base salary
$80,000 average additional compensation from voluntary call
$71,000 employer-funded 401(k) contribution
$3,000 CME allowance
$1,650 employer-funded HRA

Practice Overview
Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem is a physician-led private practice with more than 30 years of excellence in anesthesia care. Our team includes 85 anesthesiologists and approximately 180 CRNAs, providing services across multiple inpatient campuses and ambulatory surgery centers within St. Lukes University Health Network.
Clinical Environment & Scope
Level I Trauma Center at the St. Lukes Bethlehem Campus
Level II Trauma Center at the St. Lukes Anderson Campus
Three newly built Mother & Baby Pavilions located across three campuses
Approximately 5,000 deliveries network-wide
Clinical case mix includes:
General surgery, orthopedics, vascular, OBGYN, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, cardiac, pediatrics, ENT, and thoracic.
Dedicated teams for cardiac, pediatric, and critical care anesthesia
Active participation in the Perioperative Surgical Home model, acute pain service, surgical optimization clinic, and ERAS protocols
Acute Pain Service
Our acute pain team includes anesthesiologists, internists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants specializing in addiction medicine and pain management. We focus on interventional pain procedures such as thoracic and lumbar epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, and catheter-based techniques, and utilize agents such as Exparel. The program also participates in regional anesthesia trials and studies. Our multimodal, non-narcotic pain regimen includes adjuncts such as ketamine, magnesium, lidocaine, and methadone.
Call Schedule
First Call: Every 14 days; weekdays 3-4 PM to 7 AM, weekends 24-hour shifts
Second Call: Every 14 days; regular workday followed by backup duties
Post-call day off provided after both first and second calls
Voluntary calls at smaller campuses available for additional compensation
Call is evenly split between Bethlehem and Anderson (1:8)
Candidate Requirements
Board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist
Strong regional anesthesia skills
Fellowship training in regional or pain anesthesiology is a plus
New graduates and fellows are encouraged to apply
