Base pay range

A$170,000.00/yr - A$210,000.00/yr

Are you a seasoned commercial lawyer looking for your next challenge in a growth-oriented and agile environment? We are partnering with a prominent financial services organisation to find a talented Commercial Lawyer to join their legal and risk team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, software licenses, and outsourcing arrangements. Your expertise will help shape business decisions and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts to support operational and strategic goals
• Advise on contractual risks and mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure legal alignment with business objectives
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel within budget parameters
• Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments
• Support the development of internal policies and procedures
• Assist with ad-hoc commercial and corporate legal matters

About You

• Admitted as a solicitor in Australia with a current practising certificate
• Minimum 7 years’ post-admission experience in commercial law, ideally within financial services or insurance
• Strong background in contract law, including drafting and negotiation
• Previous in-house experience or time at a top-tier law firm is highly regarded
