Summary

Functions as both an analytics professional, business consultant and project lead for stakeholders regarding value based programs, quality study and improvement projects, accreditations and other strategic projects as designated. Utilize database knowledge, statistical modeling, quality improvement tools, and visual design principles to analyze, develop, and deliver strategic information trends, improvements and outcomes. Communicate complex analytics project work to all audiences.  Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in West Cancer Center, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:

BA/BS required, preferably in a healthcare related natural science (e.g. biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomathematics) or data related field (e.g. Data/Analytics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Population Health, Quality Improvement).

1 year of related technical/ project experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with relational databases and querying (Access database or SQL Server knowledge preferred).
  • Experience using descriptive or predictive statistical techniques to analyze and recommend conclusions (e.g. basic summary statistics, statistical distributions, regression and related modeling).
  • Experience with data visualization and using visual design principles to best communicate information (Tableau experience preferred).
  • Sound working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to quality and process improvement functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the application of advanced quality tools and methodologies, including statistics and team facilitation.
  • Track record of high-quality results and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance.
  • Ability to work with physicians, executives, other stakeholders and to effectively manage projects.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Functions as both an analytics professional, business consultant and project lead for stakeholders regarding value based programs, quality study and improvement projects, accreditations and other strategic projects as designated.
  • Utilize database knowledge, statistical modeling, and visual design principles to analyze, develop, and deliver strategic information trends, and outcomes to physician and executive leadership.
  • Under general direction, performs systematic evaluations of clinical processes, using the appropriate quality improvement methodology, to identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve patient care and process efficiencies.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor progress, identify and quantify variances, perform required corrective actions, and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex analytics project work to all audiences.
  • Recommend strategic alternatives.
  • Understand internal operations and data collection through collaboration with departmental leadership in order to perform strategic analysis, planning and project leadership.
  • Work with departmental leaders on strategic goals and objectives to improve trends and outcomes related to assigned projects.
  • Research and understand industry information, standards/trends, and apply to internal information for strategic use.
  • Performs other job functions as needed to fulfill department goals.
