Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to perform vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute meaningfully toVeterans’ healthcare needs while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive hourly rates.
As a key part of our team, you will conduct one-time non-treatment exams primarily based on interviews supplemented with physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. You will work independently from your own office location, with the flexibility to choose days and manage your schedule on a PRN basis, including half-day or full-day shifts. This role involves minimal administrative follow-up, primarily focused on exam reports and addendums, ensuring efficient and impactful work.
Required Skills
- Proven medical licensure in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine specialties
- Experience performing Compensation & Pension exams or assessments
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills
- Excellent communication and report writing abilities
- Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
Nice to Have Skills
- Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments
- Familiarity with medical diagnostics and documentation
- Background in occupational health or veteran care programs
Preferred Education and Experience
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
- Prior credentialing or certification for VA or military exams is advantageous but not mandatory
Other Requirements
- Must have own office setup within specified radius (Arkadelphia, Pine Bluff, Forrest City, Helena) to meet geographic and mileage preferences
- Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible days and hours
- Local candidates preferred; travel is included in rate structure
- No prescribing or treatment duties involved
- Certification of current medical licensure and competency
This role offers a highly competitive rate of $624 per hour, with flat rates of $800 for half-day (up to 4 hours) and $1600 for full-day (5 hours or more) shifts. A one-time bonus of $650 is awarded after completing all required training and initial exams.
