Exciting Physician Opportunity: Locum - General Medicine AR

Join our esteemed team as a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine AR, providing critical assessments that directly support Veterans' health and benefits. This role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to make a meaningful impact across multiple locations nationwide while enjoying competitive compensation. Your expertise will help our Veterans receive the evaluations they deserve in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities include conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved. The position requires providers to have their own office locations within designated mileage radii, working on a PRN basis, from part-day (4 hours) to full-day (8 hours) shifts, with the opportunity to perform multiple exams per week.

Required Skills:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a valid license in the state of practice
  • Experience in general medicine or familiarity with compensation and pension assessments
  • Strong interviewing and physical assessment skills
  • Ability to operate independently in a private practice setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Background in family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
  • Prior experience with veterans’ health assessments or military-related evaluations
  • Certification in DMA or related credentials (although not mandatory prior to start)

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
  • Prior experience with compensation and pension exams is advantageous but not required

Other Requirements:
  • Own office location within specified mileage radius for each site
  • Ability to work locally since travel is included in the compensation rates
  • Willingness to perform administrative follow-up such as report submissions, addendums, and diagnostics reading
  • Compliance with all applicable state and federal licensure and certification standards

Compensation at a competitive rate of $624 per hour, with flat rates of $800 (half-day) and $1,600 (full-day), plus a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and first exams. The role also includes comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), weekly pay via direct deposit, and paid sick time, along with reimbursed licensure, certification, travel, and related expenses where applicable.
