In this role you will integrate safety and health requirements into complex project planning, design, and operations to reduce the potential for adverse impacts. You will facilitate and develop risk assessments, conduct hours HSE meetings, track and monitor performance trends, and develop reports. Your recommendations will contribute to enhanced quality of safety procedures and work processes.
Major Responsibilities
- Compile and consolidate HSE analytics and records into accurate weekly and monthly reports.
- Present findings and insights through clear presentations and detailed written reports.
- Conduct gap analyses on HSE data to identify and address activity deficiencies.
- Maintain and update HSE records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and administer the SharePoint system for HSE teams.
- Collaborate with onsite teams to understand business requirements and ensure accurate data entry into company systems.
- Monitor and track HSE KPIs to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Oversee document control processes for HSSE documentation, including electronic and hard copy filing systems.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required to support HSE operations.
- Provide technical assistance and consultation to project and construction management in implementing and complying with project ES&H requirements.
- Coordinate and provide technical assistance to other project-assigned functional leads regarding compliance with project-specific safety/health requirements.
- Participate in and record minutes in meetings with customer, project team members, and subcontractors to advise them of safety and health requirements that may affect project design, schedule, and cost.
- Work with subcontractor personnel to develop high-level risk assessments, project-specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.
- Conduct ES&H audits and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements
Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area preferred.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
- Previous experience in HSE administration or coordination roles, preferably in industrial or field environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI) and SharePoint administration.
- Strong understanding of HSE reporting systems and KPI tracking.
- Familiarity with document control processes and electronic filing systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Strong analytical skills for gap analysis and compliance evaluation.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and delivering presentations.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and standards.
- Experience with safety management systems and auditing processes.
- Previous mining construction EH&S experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits, and project health surveys preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting HSE training programs.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
