Temporary Part‑Time Staff Specialist – Maternity leave relief to May 2026 (up to 32 hours per week). This role may extend, with same or reduced hours.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services for optimal patient outcomes at The Network Hospitals, including inpatient services, outpatient clinics, Hospital in the Home and consultancy where applicable.

Take a lead role in child and adolescent medicine – eating disorders, childhood obesity, childhood and adolescent mental health, and children with complex care requirements.

Provide local child protection leadership, including availability for non‑acute child protection examinations.

Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and offer training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Eligibility and Requirements

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Paediatrician, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
• Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics and Neonatal Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through information technology and written, verbal, interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
• Recent clinical experience with child and adolescent medicine – eating disorders, childhood obesity, childhood & adolescent mental health, children with complex care requirements.
• Recent clinical experience with child protection issues and completion of relevant training.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia, willingness to travel and participate in an on‑call roster, and availability to respond on site within reasonable time.
