Seeking a Customer data and Ai architect for an enterprise client in Sydney

We’re seeking an experienced Consumer Data Architect to play a pivotal role shaping customer‑centric data and AI solutions across a large, complex enterprise environment. This is a senior, hands‑on architecture role focused on end‑to‑end customer data platforms, identity, analytics and AI, working across long‑running, enterprise transformation initiatives and partnering closely with senior business and technology leaders.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead end‑to‑end architecture across customer identity, customer data platforms, analytics and AI.
  • Own and evolve the Customer Data & AI architecture roadmap, aligned to growth, retention and compliance outcomes.
  • Design enterprise‑scale customer data solutions spanning CDP, MarTech, AdTech and core data platforms.
  • Define target and transition‑state architectures across data, ML and AI.
  • Architect customer profiles, events, identity resolution, consent and activation patterns across digital channels.
  • Establish patterns for real‑time customer data, event streaming, decisioning and AI‑driven experiences.
  • Guide AI use cases including personalisation, customer insights, agent assist and predictive modelling.
  • Partner with Security, Privacy, Risk and Legal to ensure privacy‑by‑design and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide architecture governance, including active participation in Architecture Review Boards (ARB).
  • Support delivery teams and vendors across end‑to‑end, multi‑year transformation programs.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years in data / solution architecture
  • Strong experience designing customer‑centric data architectures at enterprise scale.
  • Hands‑on experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDP) such as Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce Data Cloud or Segment.
  • Strong cloud data platform experience (AWS preferred) including streaming and event‑driven architectures.
  • Experience with customer data modelling (profiles, events, identity graphs, deterministic/probabilistic stitching).
  • Practical exposure to data science and machine learning for customer use cases (e.g. churn, next‑best‑action, lifetime value).
  • Experience with consent management, PII handling and privacy‑by‑design.
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and communicate complex architecture clearly.

Nice to have

  • Consulting or advisory background.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Exposure to MarTech and customer activation platforms (Adobe, Salesforce, Braze).
  • Experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases or RAG architectures.
  • Strong whiteboarding, documentation and executive communication skills.
