We are now seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Chair of the Board, providing strategic stewardship, strong governance and inclusive leadership as we continue to grow and evolve in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

Location & Terms

  • Location: Victorian Based
  • Tenure: 12‑month initial term, 3‑year tenure as a Board Director
  • Remuneration: Board Chair fee and superannuation
  • Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Board to deliver strong, effective governance
  • Facilitate constructive, informed, and strategic Board discussion and decision‑making
  • Ensure accountability to Members and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely and transparently with the CEO and Executive Team
  • Represent Each publicly, including during key events and periods requiring visible leadership
  • Oversee Board Committee and Director evaluation and succession planning
  • Champion a culture of safety, integrity, inclusion and respect
  • Commit approximately 30‑40 hours per month to Board work: preparation, meetings (Board Committee and other working group meetings), engagement and representation

About you

You will bring:

  • Proven Board Chair or senior governance leadership experience
  • Integrity, independence and sound ethical judgement
  • Strong financial and legal literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culturally, psychologically and physically safe and inclusive culture
  • Strategic mindset with courage, curiosity and the ability to challenge respectfully
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommercial acumen and ability to navigate complex organisational environments
  • Understanding of or experience in the health community or not-for-profit sectors
  • Experience in governance quality and risk
  • Skills in legal, finance, public relations, stakeholder engagement or business development

Mandatory requirements

  • Current active membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (or equivalent)
  • Capacity to meet Responsible Person and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to pass required probity checks (Criminal History, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, insolvency checks, Aged Care Banning Orders, etc.)
  • Australian residency and 18 years of age
