An AO6 Team Leader vacancy is available in the Queensland Revenue Office (QRO).

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering effective debt, fines and penalty initiatives for the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) by leading team of professionals that deliver a case management program, collecting debt owed to the state through engagement and enforcement activities, and distributing payments to clients who are owed money as victims of crime.

This position is based in our modern Brisbane office with flexible work options available and access to professional growth pathways.

  • Offender debt recovery orders
  • Offender levies.

We are looking for an experienced leader who gets the best out of people. You bring strong problem-solving skills, can navigate complex rules and legislation, and know how to balance accountability with empathy. Just as importantly, you collaborate easily, communicate with impact, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Your typical day as a Team Leader will be to:

  • Lead, develop and inspire your team to deliver strong results in line with business objectives.
  • Build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and clear, well-reasoned recommendations to senior leaders and reports as needed.
  • Contribute to operational and risk planning to ensure our strategic goals are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities and implement service improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Capability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation and/or policy to achieve successful outcomes.
  • High level of interpersonal and influential communication skills within a client focused environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and resilience.
  • Working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems.
