Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our production departments located in Lebanon and Voluntown, CT.

 

The Maintenance Assistant will perform general maintenance work in chicken houses, in the packing & shipping department, and in the incubation/hatchery department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform general maintenance duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Follow and keep up-to-date with Biosecurity policy and changes
  • Assist in maintenance related recycle work
  • Assist in maintenance, installation and construction projects as assigned by Supervisor
  • Perform general maintenance on farm equipment, including sanitizing machines, incubators, etc.
  • Perform all duties following prescribed safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Basic maintenance skills—carpentry, plumbing, equipment repair, electrical.
