Java Full Stack Engineer – Contract

Location: Sydney, Australia

Pay Range: A$70.00/hr - A$80.00/hr

Job Type: Contract

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Java Full Stack Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity based in Sydney. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. You will work across the full technology stack, utilizing Java, jQuery, Bootstrap, Python, Django ORM, and AWS Cloud services. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both backend and frontend development and will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Frontend Development: Design and implement scalable, user-friendly applications using Java, jQuery, and Bootstrap 5.
  • Backend Development: Build and maintain backend logic with Python and/or Django ORM, ensuring seamless interaction with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Cloud Solutions: Architect, deploy, and optimize cloud solutions using AWS services, ensuring compliance with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performing, maintainable, and secure applications.

Primary Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in Java Full Stack development (both frontend and backend).
  • Proven experience with Python and/or Django ORM for backend development.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of AWS Cloud services and cloud architecture best practices.

Secondary Skills:

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and environments, including GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Container services (e.g., ECS/EKS) and cloud application security frameworks.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Specmatic and Playwright is a plus.
