About The Role

As a Freight Officer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient handling and receipt of freight, with responsibilities that include loading, unloading, and securing general freight of all sizes.

You will have prior transport/logistics experience and be comfortable using ratchet straps, chains, and binders on a daily basis. Your skills will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our business, making a real impact on our overall success. Key Responsibilities

• Operating various sized counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T and 16T)
• Processing various types of general freight from beginning to end (palletised, ugly and oversize)
• Secure and restrain all loads as per the load restraint guide, with ratchet straps, chains and binders
• Ensuring all scanning is accurate and complete for freight in the received, loaded, staged and unloaded functions
• Preparation of outgoing freight ensuring that goods are secured and packed correctly for dispatch

Skills & Experience

• Current Forklift Licence (LF)
• Experience with general, ugly & oversize freight
• Expert in load restraints using ratchet straps, chains and binders
• Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
• Scanning experience
