Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on night shifts, requiring an active IL RN license and at least two years of recent experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 31 staffed beds
• Workload includes a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shifts are 12 hours (18:45-07:15), with every other weekend required
• Floating may be required within the Med/Surg Tele units and to affiliated nearby hospitals
• On-call responsibilities are required
• Utilizes EPIC for charting with prior experience preferred
• Care for surgical patients following Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols
• Position is located in an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Care focuses on surgical patients utilizing ERAS protocols
• Must complete pre-employment modules prior to start
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first week
• Must be able to pass fit testing requirements for masks

Requirements

• Active IL RN license is required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience
• Current BCLS certification is required
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• No local candidates will be considered
