Sterile Processing Technician Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)
  
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract (December 23, 2024 – March 24, 2025)
  
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1080–$1160 per week
  
• Schedule: Day shifts (7am–3pm or 8am–4pm) and evening shift (3pm–11pm) available
  
• Work Days: Monday – Friday with rotating weekends and possible on-call shifts
  
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
  
• Travel Requirement: One day shift position requires travel to another hospital campus 3 days a week
  

Sterile Processing Technician Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (SP Tech)
  
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required)
  
• Hospital sterile processing experience preferred
  
• Ability to work rotating weekends and take on-call shifts as needed
  
• Reliable transportation for travel between hospital campuses (if applicable)
  

Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with hospital and infection control standards
  
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, equipment, and inventory
  
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory guidelines
  
• Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and clinical support staff to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies
  
• Travel to designated hospital campus as required for assigned shifts
