Entry Level Electrical Validation Engineer (2018)

POSITION:  Electrical Validation Engineer (entry level)


PERMANENT LOCATION:  Suzhou, People’s Republic of China


TEMPORARY LOCATION:  Saginaw, Michigan, United States (first year assignment)


LANGUAGE:  Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin), reading, writing, and speaking is required.


This position will be located in Saginaw Michigan for the first year of the assignment with the expectation that the successful candidate will transfer to Suzhou permanently after that time.  Nexteer will be happy to consider individuals who hold an OPT Visa.



  • Act as the primary electrical validation engineering interface to the customer
  • Maintain controller validation timeline for assigned applications
  • Support all required program documentation including:

Engineering Test Specifications

Customer Validation Reports

Test Activities

Validation Test Plans


5 Phases

Customer issues/communications tracking

Customer Documentation, etc.

  • Coordinate sample requirements to support validation test plans
  • Support controller update activities: samples, vehicle testing, validation, etc.
  • Plan and manage test readiness activities, e.g., fixtures, cables, software, etc…
  • Support Customer Program Implementation activities as required
  • Support the interpretation and analysis of internal and external validation requirements and translate into test system requirements
  • Participate in the development and implementation of test systems required for validation.  This may include both electrical circuit design as well as writing software (LabVIEW, C#)



DEGREE: Bachelor

MAJOR: Electrical/Computer Engineering


Required Skills:

  • Interest in test & validation activities in support of electrical systems
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


  • Entry Level Validation Engineer
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay)
  • Familiarity with basic tools that apply to CAN networks
  • Familiarity with design and production of electronic assemblies
