Your role at Sephora:

As a Manager, Inventory Planning Strategy, you will work to improve the effectiveness of the inventory team through information, tools, and process improvements, as well as support strategic initiatives to drive sales and improve inventory efficiencies.  Reporting to the Senior Director, you will serve as a communication channel & change agent, ensuring the adoption of a lean approach to supply chain and focus on continuous process improvements and partner with cross-function teams to build alignment and support for inventory initiatives.  In addition, you will:

 

ASSESS:

  • Serve as a “thought leader” to Supply Chain team to help define current state situation, assess gaps in process/capabilities/talent, and assist in development of the future state in line with strategic initiatives
  • Lead and support internal “deep dives” related to business performance improvement initiatives, including the evaluation of current process and effectiveness of associated control(s) and deliver recommendations to improve processes, systems, and related training.
  • Conduct annual department-wide functional training needs assessment to identify skill or knowledge gaps

 

ALIGN:

  • Define lean competencies and process improvement activities needed at all levels within Inventory Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners and individual contributors to align on skills enhancement training, development opportunities and process improvements needed to eliminate non-value added activities and redundancy
  • Participate in shaping the overall supply chain direction and strategy through involvement in cross functional projects and initiatives

 

CREATE:

  • Conduct workshops, skill enhancement events and provide guidance on the lean transformation process in order to support inventory management objectives
  • Develop and upgrade Sephora materials, modules, and structures focused on lean supply chain process improvements
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding the design and preparation of educational aids and training materials
  • Support the development and training of user based systems and tools

 

IMPLEMENT:

  • Work with leadership to drive tangible and measurable improvements in inventory management processes through leadership, training and coaching of supply chain associates. Track key performance indicators and report back to leadership on improvement and efficiency gains
  • Identify and share best practices across worlds and channels
  • Inform and market available training & skills enhancement opportunities to associates
  • Lead process improvement projects
  • Liaise with training and education team to help assess and develop training to address soft skill deficiencies

 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 8+ years of inventory management (planning/allocation) experience within a retail environment; beauty retail experience a plus
  • Strong numbers aptitude; able to compile statistical reports
  • Problem solving, time management and analytical skills; able to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; organizationally savvy and relevant interpersonal skills
  • Effective at presenting complex information to all size audiences
  • Demonstrated functional training skills; strong leader and managerial capabilities
  • Excellent technical skills – MS Office (Excel, Access), AS400 experience a plus
  • Flexible; team player; self-starter
