We at Gracenote are presently looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our Music team.



Gracenote is looking for an Associate Product Manager focusing on our global music solutions.  This individual will provide support to the Product Management process across a variety of products within the music vertical.  The world’s hottest music services rely on Gracenote to power and enrich their user experiences, featuring our industry standard data, as well as our recognition, playlist and discovery technologies. Gracenote data and technologies can be found in products from companies such as Apple, Amazon, Google, Ford, Samsung, LG, Sony and Spotify.


In this role, the individual will collaborate with other Product Managers, as well as the talented teams from Engineering, Content, Customer Success and Sales. Together, we help develop, deliver and maintain the next generation of Gracenote global products through customer collaboration, business intelligence, market trends and financial analysis. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the development and launch of new products in an environment that exhibits the pace and energy of a start-up, yet executed within a disciplined product organization.


This position reports to the Director of Product Management, Music.



Product Requirements:

  • Facilitate Product Management goals on cross functional development efforts involving Engineering, Content, Sourcing, Customer Success, Marketing and Sales.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for optimal product health.
  • Provide market analysis and business performance data that shows product is meeting market needs.
  • Drive functionality and content trade-off decisions to ensure timely delivery
  • Support Sales and Customer Success teams on new product trainings and support the sales process as required.


Competitive, Technology and Market Research & Analysis:

  • Research target markets and emerging technologies.
  • Research the competition and perform competitive product benchmarking and feature analysis.
  • Establish efficient feedback processes to gather developer and end-user feedback from Sales, Professional Services and Developer Support teams, customers, industry partners, and user surveys.



Education & Experience

  • BS/BA degree required; computer science/engineering degree (or equivalent experience) a plus.
  • MBA degree is a plus
  • Experience in digital media technologies, data analytics and/or software development
  • Experience in content aggregation, search, data mining, data-driven applications, and/or media players a plus.
  • International experience is a plus, especially Japan, Korea, China, Europe (excluding UK) and Latin America.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and present highly professional, effective presentations for both business and technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of entertainment media metadata and information architecture principles is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with digital music technologies and services a plus.
