West elm has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Digital Designer to contribute to our in-house digital Creative team, reporting directly to the Digital Art Director and rolling up to the Director of Digital Creative. This role is responsible for creating high-level design concepts for the daily marketing, seasonal branding, and user experience of West Elm's digital channels. You will work on email and homepage marketing, site and mobile UX/UI, cross-channel seasonal concepts, and manage communication with digital partners to find solutions that solve both creative and business needs.

The role executes and maintains digital marketing for our main brands and new businesses. Our new Business areas include west elm's contract grade hospitality assortment and workspace office lines. All three areas maintain individual identities and deliverables specific to the needs of each business.

In close collaboration with cross-functional partners, you will turn ideas and concepts into modern designs that will further optimize the customer experience across all digital channels. To be successful here you'll also need a flexible personality to be able to thrive in the fast paced, reactive environment.

Essential Functions:

* Design a wide variety of assets including homepages, landing pages, emails, banners and special projects

* Concept & execute seasonal campaigns and brand aesthetic across West Elm's digital channels.

* Structure Photoshop comps to optimize efficient workflow and production

* Review final work with an exacting eye to ensure delivered files are to spec and site ready

* Ability to meet all deadlines under pressure and can react to unexpected schedule changes and fluctuations in workload

* Work closely with project managers, merchants, marketing team and copy team to obtain all relevant information, technical requirements and timelines for each project

* Partner with Site manager and front end developers to lead & execute UX/UI projects

* Independently identify issues and resolutions

* Complete projects both independently or in partnership with other designers.

* Expertise in understanding and executing in West Elm's brand aesthetic.

* Experience delivering on business and creative goals through design

* Develop progressive proof-of-concept designs and present to cross-functional and cross-brand partners to gain buy-in for execution

* Illustration and graphic design needs for marketing materials as needed

* Design and implementation of web design including UI elements, typography, product information pages (including maintenance), home and landing pages

* Fulfill a wide wage of digital creative marketing material requests -- invitations, social media needs, digital announcements, tec.

* Execute all design concepts and deliverables according to established timelines with minimal supervision

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
* 2-4 years experience designing for web and digital media
* Strong retail/fashion brand or agency experience desired; ecommerce experience required
* Strong understanding of user experience and user interface
* Excellent typography skills
* Fluent in Photoshop and InDesign, HTML/CSS experience a plus
* Experience using Basecamp a plus
* Illustration skills a plus
