SAP Concur seeks a Programmer/Writer with proven abilities working with developer-facing documentation, including developer guides, detailed API documentation, sample code, tutorials, and use cases. This writer should be a self-starter who is able to manage multiple concurrent projects. The writer should be comfortable working with Markdown and JSON to render the information as required by their team on a monthly or on-demand basis. Documentation tasks will include creating and following processes, creating and maintaining API documentation, reviewing content with Product Owners, version control, posting and updating collateral, and all other associated tasks that expose the team's work with clarity and technical accuracy. 

 

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to create, edit, and review developer content in Markdown
  • Ability to create sample code for SAP Concur APIs in JSON, shell/Curl, Java, NodeJS, Python, C#, XML, and other languages as needed
  • Experience creating tutorials and developer guides for APIs
  • Passion for customer-focused documentation and understanding of developer audience
  • Ability to receive and prioritize feedback from a variety of developer-facing groups within Concur
  • Self-starter with organization and project management skills
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word
  • Ability to learn complicated interconnected enterprise services

 

What would be nice to have?

  • Interest in developing consistent documentation standards across all APIs
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Ability to work with offsite development teams – Japan, England, Germany, France, etc.

 

Day-to-day:

  • Review documentation for upcoming APIs for clarity and conformity to standards
  • Create sample code to test the API documentation and tools for accuracy
  • Create new developer guides and tutorials for upcoming APIs
  • Work with dedicated TechPubs team member to research functionality in the SAP Concur product documentation
  • Majority of the writer's time is spent researching and writing, with the opportunity to provide input on developer portal layout and experience if desired
