Technician A (E-M)

The group seeks a full time technician to run predefined parametric and functional tests on electronic devices fabricated in the microelectronics laboratory as well as outside foundries.  Testing is performed to help qualify various process technologies, screen components for system insertion, and to advance research going on in the group.  The majority of these tests are performed at the wafer level using ATE and wafer probing systems.
The individual will operate test systems under the supervision of scientific personnel or technicians of a higher grade.  The individual will also be tasked with general system repairs which may involve soldering and cable construction.
Requirements:
•    Graduation from a two-year day technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of applicable experience are required.
•    Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, as well as a background in analog and digital electronics.
•    Ability to operate standard types of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies, function generators, logic analyzers, etc.
•    The candidate must be well organized, careful, detail oriented, and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•    General PC application skills with proficiency in using MS Excel for data screening.
•    Good soldering skills with the ability to read and understand schematics
•    Must possess good writing skills with the ability to create and contribute to test documentation.
Desired Skills:
•    Prior experience with automatic probers and wafer level testing.
•    Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
