Purpose of Job

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Methodology, the Project Methodology Specialist (Specialist) will assist with the development, maintenance, publication, training and communications of Enterprise Delivery Methodology processes, tools and templates for both project management and systems development lifecycles.

 

This position builds and maintains effective working relationships with many business and technology client groups across the organization. Working closely with the Enterprise Delivery Methodology process owners and other stakeholders, the Specialist will assist with the analysis of the processes, tools and/or templates and publish them in the appropriate enterprise repository.

 

The Specialist will help prepare and deliver communications regarding the project and program delivery methodologies to audiences across the organization, to provide learning and understanding of the project and program methodology and how to apply on a broad range of projects within divisional project portfolio offices.

 

The Specialist will need to work in person with people in other office locations in downtown Toronto or Scarborough, as well as remotely with people in other countries such as Latin America. Occasional travel may be required, in addition to teleconference meetings and/or presentations.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

 

1. Develop and maintain the processes, tools, templates and/or job aids for the project delivery and systems development methodologies and publish/deploy through the enterprise repository(ies). This involves working closely with process owners and with global users of the methodology, building and leveraging strong working relationships.

 

2. Develop materials and deliver presentations, communications and training in support of the methodology roll out, working with global audiences and clients. This includes the preparation, delivery, and working with corporate translation services to support the bilingual delivery of methodology on the global portal.

 

3. As a trusted advisor, assist methodology users in applying the standard methodology.

 

4. Gather feedback and ideas from stakeholders about how to best configure and communicate the methodology; analyze suggestions within the context of the department objectives and make recommendations on improvements, taking into account both usability and value perspectives.

 

5. As requested, spot check and/or monitor usage of the methodology and portal/tools; producing reports and metrics as requested by management.

 

6. Provide client and administrative support of the enterprise repository and all related tools. Participate in enterprise methodology initiatives, including plan, document scope/requirements, consult/participate in enhancement development, prepare for and perform testing prior to implementation, participate in implementation including preparation/delivery of related communication to impacted client groups.

 

7. With Methodology team consultation, develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the enterprise methodology users, taking advantage of available technology within the context of Bank standards and consistency with other relevant tools.

 

Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies

 

•              Minimum of 5 years of direct exposure to projects, including an understanding of both Waterfall and Agile project lifecycle delivery approaches and system lifecycle (SDLC) processes

•              Excellent skills in the use of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an understanding of SharePoint and Office 365

•              Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and facilitation skills

•              Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with changing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail

•              Well-developed interpersonal skills including coaching people, negotiating and the ability to influence others

 

Education

 

•              Post-secondary education in Computers, Project Management, Business or related discipline is desirable

•              Consulting experience or PMP certification are desirable
