The Interceptor and Sensor Technology Group supports the development of advanced technologies and systems for application to sensors and interceptor missiles for use in future surveillance, missile defense and air defense systems. The Group is currently supporting programs in the development of air and space-based visible and infrared surveillance as well as tracking and advanced guidance for missile defense. The group is also developing and evaluating seeker and missile system technology. These programs cover a range of activities including prototyping of advanced electro-optical sensors and algorithms, mission simulations and modeling, laboratory, field and flight tests, and data analysis and exploitation.

 

The Interceptor and Sensor Technology Group is searching for a candidate to contribute to the development and evaluation of advanced missile defense systems. The group is considering applicants interested in one or more of the following areas: modeling and optical systems, guidance and navigation, prototyping of sensors and seekers, algorithm development and analysis of field and experimental data. The candidate hired for this position will collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team to identify technology needs, develop candidate solutions, and quantify performance. The staff will work with experienced group members to learn about new technology and the group mission as well as to identify a growth path. In addition, the candidate will communicate with a variety of audiences including both technical and non-technical peers and sponsors. .Experience in any of the following areas is strongly desired: data analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB), laboratory hardware and experimental setups, systems analysis or CAD. 

 

Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Optics, Physics or Mathematics; 3.7 minimum GPA.
