Maintenance Supervisor - Operations

Situated in the picturesque Bay of Quinte area, Cascades Containerboard Pkg. in Belleville is located just off Hwy #401 approximately 2 hours East of Toronto and 2.5 hours West of Ottawa.  The area is rich in theatre, museums, restaurants, wineries, breweries and parks – perfect for those who love to camp, fish, boat and relax on the beach. Cascades is the largest recycled paper collector in Canada and a leader in the production and conversion of corrugated products, tissue paper and specialty products in North America.  We are currently looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to work in our Belleville corrugated box converting plant as a Maintenance Supervisor overseeing a department of 6 employees including Millwright Mechancis and Electricians. The successful candidate will have previous supervisory/management experience in an industrial maintenance environment - experience as a qualified tradesperson in a relevant trade is beneficial but not required.

Job Responsibilities

Business Objectives Alignment

Help draw up the maintenance budget to meet the unit’s business objectives

Support his sector’s objectives as a maintenance/reliability manager

Operational Excellence

Ensure and/or facilitate the sector’s adherence to its annual maintenance budget

Follow best practices and ensure the efficiency and quality of the unit’s maintenance/reliability operations

Ensure operational excellence and eliminate issues by making recommendations to his manager

Work with Production to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities

Support his unit’s operational strategy

Human Resources

Help employees reporting to him to develop their skills and make sure they receive the necessary training to carry out their responsibilities

Help maintain a positive work environment by walking the floor and fostering two-way communication

Manage and engage his staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Health & Safety

Develop and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all Cascades employees

Help implement the OSH action plan

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety

Corporate Responsibility and Governance
