Purpose and Objective: Ariba, Inc. seeks a Quality Specialist at our Palo Alto, CA office to work in a cross functional development or testing team with special focus to quality assurance and test related tasks within the product creation process.


Expectations and Tasks: Analyze, define, implement and execute quality and test related activities according to a given quality and test strategy for the product area. Create detailed test design including test system landscape requirements and product standards. Prepare tests (customizing and master data), author and execute manual and/or automated tests. Analyze test results (issues) and takes appropriate follow-up actions. Act as a subject matter expert in the team in terms of quality assurance and test related processes, methods and tools. Demonstrate basic product domain knowledge including relevant business processes and scenarios and a basic understanding of customer needs. Demonstrate proficient knowledge about relevant product and process standards, important legal requirements as well as quality assurance and test related tools. Demonstrate basic knowledge and technical competencies of relevant programming languages and related development tools and processes.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 1 year of experience, or alternatively, a Master's degree and 0 years of experience.


Work Experience: Experience or coursework must involve: Java; SQL; Test case automation using Selenium IDE and Web Driver or HP QTP and TestNG/JUnit; setup and troubleshooting of builds and test case automation via continuous integration tools including Jenkins; test case authoring using TestLink or HP Quality Center; functional, regression and exploratory testing; defect tracking using Jira, HP Quality Center, or Sarena Team Track; source code management using Perforce and git; and Supply Chain processes.
