Your Role:

- Under the direction of the Director of HSE, you will be responsible for Health Services, Health Promotion and Education, Administrative and miscellaneous duties.

Your Challenges:

Responsible for the Initial nursing assessment, treatment/intervention or referral for occupational and non-occupational related illness or injury. Documents nursing assessment, treatment and outcome, if known, on individual employee records. Maintains employee health record

- Co-ordinate and administers the Modified Work and Rehabilitation Program, Including coaching and monitoring employees on the programs. Identifies opportunities for continuous involvement and assists employees with return to work;

- Manage the administration of Medical Surveillance Program for designated substances within the workplace (lead and isocyanates);

- Support accurate statistical data on WSIB work related injuries as required

- Arrange the company medicals or pre-placement screening with an appropriate provider. Orientates employees to Health Center Services;

- Coordinate physician visits and services;

- Support for WSIB claims and case management and appeals. Initiate and complete appropriate benefits claim forms. Monitor progress and treatment of employees on sick benefits and assist in workplace rehabilitation when appropriate;

- Ensure audiometric testing of new employees and periodic testing as per Health and Safety Guidelines;

- Support counsels and is a resource person to management and employees in matters pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation;

- Medical monitoring of high-risk individuals/groups; i.e. diabetes and hypertension

- Administer and promote the Safety Eye Glass Program. This includes liaison with the service provider, maintaining individual employee records, preparation of authorization forms, recording/auditing and first level approval of invoices, answering inquiries and resolution of problems and complaints related to the program;

- Ensure an adequate stock of medical supplies is maintained;

- Provide general health promotion through health teaching and by providing a range of educational material on health-related matters

Qualifications

- RPN Designation/Diploma

- Valid CPR/AED HCP
