Job Summary
Directs daily operations of pharmacy services. This position directs and supports pharmacy staff, participates in determining the short and long-term goals for the department and related policies and procedures, and provides leadership and guidance to the pharmacy staff.

Essential Functions
- Provides leadership, guidance and serves as a role model to those professionals under his/her supervision.
- Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy services; schedules and assigns staff.
- Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.
- Participates in on‑call responsibilities as assigned.
- Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation.
- Assists in recruitment, interviews, and training of new staff.
- Participates in the development of policy and procedures.
- Conducts educational programs, in‑services, and staff meetings.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy required.
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
Licenses and Credentials: Pharmacist [State License] – Generic – HR Only required.
Experience: Related experience 3–5 years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written and quantitative skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of department operations.
- Knowledge of pharmacology of drugs and legal aspects of dispensing.
- Interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff, usually acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience.
- Ability to work accurately and make decisions under stress and within time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail.
