Exemption Status: Non‑Exempt
Hiring Range: $36.07 - $77.31 (final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations)
Schedule Details: Holidays – Every third holiday; Weekends – Every fourth weekend
Scheduled Hours: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts (3‑4 shifts per week)
Cost Center: 10020 – 0158 Critical Care Float Pool
Union: MNA‑University (Massachusetts Nurses Association)

Job Description
$6,000 Sign‑on Bonus eligible for external new hires to the UMMH system. Rules and restrictions apply – Talent Acquisition will discuss eligibility with candidates.
Major Responsibilities
- Utilize the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient care from admission to discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
- Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
- Delegate appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
- Document patient care according to standard procedure.
- Develop, implement/coordinate, and document education plans for patient, family, or significant other.
License / Certification / Education
Position Qualifications
Required
- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
- BLS is required for every RN unless advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit‑specific certifications and competencies.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
Schedule Details
3 – 12 hour night shifts per week, 7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., every 4th weekend and 3rd holiday.
