Responsibilities

  • Provide medical gas products, services, and equipment through interaction with assigned accounts within territory, representing the company’s product lines to new prospects and existing customers by demonstrating products and services and explaining features.
  • Develop and execute plans to improve Airgas market share within the assigned sales territory.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
  • Qualify and pursue sales leads from other parts of the Airgas organization.
  • Keep local, regional, and national Airgas management informed of territory performance, personal performance, and market trends.
  • Act as a resource for other sales representatives by assisting them with customer sales calls and providing product and industry training, making appropriate recommendations and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or related field required. Up to 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of outside business‑to‑business sales experience, proven success in solution‑selling concepts, and delivery of customer management across a defined sales territory.
  • Knowledge of industrial and specialty gases, industrial gas/welding supply sales a plus.
  • Customer segmentation knowledge and ability to prioritize high‑value targets.
  • Experience with collaborative CSM platforms such as Google Space and Salesforce.
  • Proven success using a consultative sales approach, providing multiple layers of value to customers to establish a mix of sales solutions and products.
  • Strong presentation, written and oral communication, listening skills.
  • Reliable transportation, current driver’s license and minimum liability insurance as required by state.
