Unit and Location
VUH NT8 MICU/PCU — New Medical Pulmonary ICU on the 8th Floor of the Jim Ayers Tower Expansion at VUH. This is a brand-new, multidisciplinary unit delivering high-acuity care in a team-based environment.
Job Summary
Applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Engages in learning activities according to Board of Nursing standards.
Shift
Night shift with a minimum weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule.

- Acute Respiratory Failure & ARDS
- Multi-System Organ Failure & Sepsis
- Drug Overdose & GI Bleeds
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis & Hypertensive Crisis
- Acute/Chronic Renal Failure
- Liver Failure/Cirrhosis
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios
ICU: 1:1–2 | Stepdown: 1:3–4

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Qualifications
- Certifications: LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
- Work Experience: Relevant Work Experience
- Experience Level: 1 year
- Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program
