Summary
Under supervision, provides support to surgical procedures by setting up operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies. Functions as scrub person throughout procedure.

Formal Education Required

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• BCLS Certification
• Knowledge of surgical principles and skills
• Current National Certified Surgical Technologist certification OR certification as Certified Surgical Technologist preferred

Experience and Training Required

• Recent (or previous) operating room experience preferred

• Ability to operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments
• Ability to work well within a team environment: by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and by collaborating with patient care team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs
• Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa: to create a patient care environment which is focused on the needs and expectations of the patient
• Ability to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties
• Demonstrates flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients, cleaning equipment, and materials
• Ability to coordinate communication information for personnel, physicians, and patients
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy

Salary
$26.18/hr - $31.41/hr
