Join to apply for the NUCLEAR MED TECHNOLOGIST II role at Methodist Hospitals.
Under the direction of an authorized radiologist, this position performs all types of nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapy on patients as requested by physicians.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- Communicates with supervisor or designee regarding unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and departmental needs.
- Confers with a radiologist on unclear procedure orders before proceeding.
- Documents receipt, return, and disposal of radioactive materials according to NRC and DOT regulations.
- Orders radiopharmaceuticals as needed.
- Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures using Gamma cameras, following departmental protocols.
- Verifies patient identity and explains procedures prior to exams.
- Performs daily surveys, calibration checks, and quality control on radiopharmaceuticals as per regulations.
- Prepares doses, administers radiopharmaceuticals, and documents procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently, under stress, and in teams.
- Registered by ARRT and/or NMTCB.
- Indiana State License.
Education
- Bachelor's in Allied Health-Nuclear Medicine preferred.
- 1 Healthcare/Medical - Radiology (Imaging and Therapy) preferred.
- 2 Healthcare/Medical - Nuclear Medicine required.
- Certified Nuclear Med Tech.
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
Standards and Compliance
Adheres to personnel policies, confidentiality, HIPAA, and corporate compliance standards.
