Job Responsibilities
- Program CNC mills using Camworks.
- Operate and program one or more specialty machines: CNC Grinder, CNC High Speed Mill, or Wire EDM.
- Train other machinists on proper use of shop machine tools and inspection equipment.
- Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, etc., selecting proper feeds and speeds.
- Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions to make parts.
- Read and interpret complex prints, designs, and G & M code.
- Make fixtures for machines.
- Perform hand operations such as filing, fitting, tapping, etc.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in a machine shop.
- Experience with 3‑axis milling.
- 5+ years of CNC mill programming experience.
- Experience with CAMWorks and SolidWorks or equivalent CAM/CAD software.
- Experience with 5‑axis milling preferred.
- EDM experience preferred.
- Knowledge of precision measuring devices.
- Ability to work to close tolerances.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
- Advanced shop mathematics skills.
- Broad knowledge of machine shop practices.
- Proven mechanical aptitude.
