Job Description
- As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;
- Developing project scope of work and fee proposals.
- Managing task or project‑level budgets and schedules.
- Providing day‑to‑day direct oversight of traction power planning and design projects.
- Developing project design criteria, construction plans, construction specifications, and cost estimates.
- Writing technical reports.
- Assigning daily work, and mentoring junior staff.
- Managing implementation plans as appropriate.
- Collaborating with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Reviewing draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meeting with current and potential future clients to review their current and future organizational needs.
- May participate in professional associations and societies, attend conferences, contribute to papers, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in Overhead Contact System design, Traction Power design, DC Power design, testing, installation, and construction phase services, preferably with clients like CTA, Metra and/or similar transit agencies nationwide.
- Experience managing and delivering design projects from initiation through final design.
- Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Ability to present in front of large groups.
- Task leader, discipline leader, or project management experience, including development of project proposals and creation of scope of work documents.

$119,829 – $209,726
