Description
We are hiring a Power System Test Engineer with experience in medium and high voltage substation and generation facility equipment. The role involves field and office work evaluating test data, writing reports, consulting with clients, and setting up and testing protective relay systems. The engineer will also act as the startup engineer for new substation testing and commissioning projects and may require some travel across a multi‑state area.
Responsibilities
- Set up and test protective relay systems in the field.
- Act as startup engineer for new substation testing and commissioning projects.
- Perform office work evaluating test data, preparing reports, and consulting with clients.
- Travel to field sites as required for multi‑state service.
Minimum Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of test equipment.
- Previous substation experience beneficial but not required.
- Must be able to pass client‑mandated drug and background checks.
- Must meet company auto‑insurance‑carrier requirements.
- Not requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in future.
