Cloud Engineer at Husch Blackwell
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join Husch Blackwell, a full‑service litigation and business law firm serving clients across the United States. This role may be filled remotely or at one of our locations.

Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016 and newer) for the firm's enterprise environment including routers, switches, and Wi‑Fi APs.
- Support desktop and server application distribution and updates via Microsoft Update Management Center, Intune/Microsoft Endpoint Manager, AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop), scripting and Group Policy.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain IT and cloud solutions, including Windows servers and cloud environments.
- Design, support, and implement Microsoft Active Directory Services (AD) and Azure AD.
- Define, implement, and enforce security frameworks for existing and new systems.
- Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with defined templates.
- Implement and maintain anti‑virus and anti‑malware solutions.
- Use ITIL best practice to plan, document, and transition services into production; continuously review and improve.
- Support additional infrastructure such as SQL Server, Intune, Azure, AWS, Office 365, AppSense, Azure Files, Illumio, SentinelOne, Checkpoints, Palo Alto.
- Advise on inventory control and asset management.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery testing and implementation.
- Respond to end‑user issues through the IT HelpDesk, prioritizing based on criticality.
- Recommend patches, reconfigurations, or new products that improve firm technology.
- Provide technical assistance to the Information Technology team and firm users, including on‑call and after‑hours duties and special projects as directed by IT Operations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement technology solutions for business problems.
- Engage in ongoing self‑education and document processes for the Engineering and Administration teams.
- Partner with the Security team to manage related applications.
Qualifications
- 4‑year degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Experience managing technology and infrastructure projects.
- Keyboarding proficiency and familiarity with computer software and network systems.
Physical Requirements
The employee may be required to remain stationary for prolonged periods, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary, and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time. Occasionally, the employee must lift and carry 25–35 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
Employees receive compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation varies based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states are:
- California: $82,000 – $156,000
- Colorado: $75,000 – $134,000
- Illinois: $74,000 – $143,000
- Maryland: $79,000 – $120,000
- Massachusetts: $82,000 – $156,000
- Minnesota: $82,000 – $135,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $89,000 – $161,000
- New York: $76,000 – $164,000
- Vermont: $81,000 – $155,000
- Washington: $79,000 – $150,000
- Washington, D.C.: $106,000 – $155,000
Inclusive of discretionary bonuses, which are not guaranteed and depend on individual and firm performance.
