Description:
This position will entail responsibilities such as maintaining, upgrading, and configuring physical and virtual servers and devices in a significant global satellite communications system. You will make extensive use of automated configuration and deployment tools such as Ansible to accomplish this. Your duties may also include making design changes to deployment and test workflows, automating redundant tasks to simplify the end user experience. You will support the development, test, and production teams, ensuring the systems are in a working and up-to-date state for current and future releases. Other engineering support duties may include analysis, remediation, and documentation of networking hardware, operating systems, and system software security vulnerabilities.
Pay Rate: $60 - $65 an hour
Location: San Diego, CA (Open to Remote)

Responsibilities:
- Update server configurations using Ansible and related tools
- Configure, Integrate, and Test new COTs software packages with updated OS versions
- Test, Fix, Resolve, and Document software and hardware-related issues with new releases
- Fix LAN-related issues on all layers of the OSI stack
- IA remediation of Linux OS's, network equipment, and related applicable software
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration, configuration, and IA remediation
- 3+ years of experience working with TCP/IP network administration and fixing
- 3+ years of experience with automated configuration deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- 3+ years of experience with using version control software such as Git and Perforce
- Strong working knowledge of one or more of: Python, Bash, Groovy
What will help you on the job:
- Experience with modern DevOps procedures
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, etc
- Excellent Software & Systems design, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies such as: Jenkins, ArgoCD, Ansible etc
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
- Some work experience with virtualization technologies such as ESXI, OpenStack, etc
- Proficiency fixing issues in Linux and Windows server environments
- Some Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Some Experience working with various test tracking and bug tracking tools such as Jama and Jira
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study
- Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance or higher is required
- Active secret clearance
