IT Business Analyst 3 (Tax Department)

About the Role
Client seeks a Business System Analyst (BSA) to support Tax web projects. This role facilitates business process design and system delivery, acting as a key liaison among development, business, and testing teams. The BSA gathers and documents requirements, reviews technical designs, recommends process and system improvements, and supports testing activities for application modifications.
Scope of Work
- Requirement Elicitation & Documentation: Conduct interviews with users to gather business and technology requirements and prepare complex functional design documents and specifications.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the interface with application development, business staff, and testing teams to define the highest-level software and system requirements.
- Process Review Leadership: Coordinate and lead review sessions among business users, developers, and testing staff to ensure full understanding of requirements and proposed designs.
- Analysis and Problem‑Solving: Independently analyze and document solutions to complex business problems, ensuring accurate completion of assignments.
- Data Analysis & Design Management: Collect, interpret, and present data using SQL for analysis; ensure designs are managed with version control (e.g., GIT in Azure DevOps).
- SDLC Knowledge & Support: Maintain a detailed understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and perform knowledge transfer to train other BSAs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to develop functional documentation, best practices, and troubleshooting guides for business solutions.
- Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic SQL knowledge.
- Project Management (highly desirable).
