Description

DDG is currently seeking a Civil CAD Designer to join our team. The CAD Designer will be responsible for efficiently producing site civil engineering and/or land development design plans. This position reports to the Civil Design Manager or Project Manager and works closely with civil engineers, CAD designers, and CAD Technicians. The Civil CAD Designer plays an important role in producing well-thought-out designs and quality drawing packages to control project construction and deliver solutions for clients.

Activities & Responsibilities

  • Develop civil designs and produce site civil engineering and/or land development plans including drainage, grading, water, wastewater, signage, and marking plans for various site developments.
  • Develop and plot maps showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles, and cross-sections. Produce plan-profile drawings for infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare drainage and cut-and-fill calculations.
  • Visualize and plan geographic representations of designs for land development projects.
  • Work within the budget constraints set by the Project Manager.
  • Adhere to DDG CAD Standards, ensuring clarity and accuracy of documents and compliance with design criteria.
  • Ensure drawings meet production goals.
  • Travel up to 30% of the week and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and research abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Autodesk tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate or Associate’s Degree in a CAD-related program.
  • Experience in commercial land development, including site improvement design, drainage, utilities, and grading.
  • Proficiency in civil CAD drafting and AutoCAD software.
  • Experience operating CAD workstations, plotters, and printers.
  • Minimum of 5 years civil drafting experience.
