As the Governance & Board Relations Associate, you’ll play a key role in supporting the work of our Board of Directors and executive leadership. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel, you’ll blend precision with heart as you manage the administrative and experiential side of HumanGood’s governance program. You’ll be the trusted connective tissue between our leadership team and our Board — helping ensure our mission-driven decisions move forward smoothly and effectively.

What you will do in this role:

  • Manage the annual Board calendar and schedule meetings
  • Coordinate and prepare meeting materials, agendas, and communications
  • Partner with our Event Planning team to support in-person Board meetings (quarterly travel required)
  • Host and support Zoom and teleconference meetings
  • Maintain governance records, minutes, and board portal systems
  • Assist with Board nominations, elections, and new member onboarding
  • Liaise with Board and committee members to ensure a seamless experience
  • Help manage the Governance budget and track Board expenses
  • Support compliance with bylaws, charters, and governance best practices

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit governance, legal administration, or corporate governance.
  • >Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in governance or board relations
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Comfort managing sensitive information
  • Ability to build trust and support leaders at all levels
  • A mindset rooted in service, mission, and collaboration
  • Ability to travel up to 15-33% of the time

Compensation

$85,000-100,000 depending on experience and location

Location

this position is remote with some travel. Candidates must be located in the greater Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego areas.
