Project Leader - Operations

Your challenge!

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager, you will coordinate the Development and sales teams’ efforts for Cascades’ internal packaging film needs. As a project leader, you will work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects while supporting continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Act as a technical resource person by making recommendations and suggestions for improvement
  • Analyze the needs of business partners and clearly identify project terms of reference
  • Develop good relationships with business partners
  • Develop project plans (mandate, deliverables, schedule, budget) while complying with existing standards
  • Assist with commissioning new equipment
  • Identify the human and material resources required for projects
  • Support investment projects and manage them as needed

Job Responsabilities

  • Manage the new products technical development;
  • Manage new equipment installation projects;
  • Participate in the development of the quality tests for the new products and equipment;
  • Support the continuous improvement team by providing technical expertise;
  • Perform other specific assignments within the technical team;

  • Provide technical expertise to help develop and implement the business strategy for the units in line with the group’s vision and world-class best practices

  • Coordinate employees involved in carrying out projects
  • Assess and minimize the impact of projects on work flow

  • Bachelor's degree en Chemical engineering ou Mechanics

Desired experience

  • 5 years in a technical position related to plastics or packaging
  • Experience in plastics or food packaging is an asset

Technical competencies

  • Process knowledge extrusion and thermoforming an asset;
  • Knowledge in printing an asset;
  • Knowledge of plastic materials an asset;
  • Fluency in English;
  • French an asset.

Additional information

  • The position will be based in Kingsey Falls, Drummondville, St-Bruno or Mississauga;
  • This position involved frequent travel in Canada and the USA
