RESEARCH ASSISTANT 2 – School of Medicine, Anatomy & Neurobiology

Position: Boston University Medical Campus – Professional. Location: Boston, United States.
Salary Grade: 44 (Expected range $20.13–$25.40). Position Type: Full‑Time/Regular.

The Research Assistant will support an NIH‑funded research study on the impact of psychosocial stress and cardiorespiratory fitness on brain health and mental health in Black emerging adult college/university students. Responsibilities include conducting informed consent and screening, providing technical support for minor equipment, organizing and archiving datasets, data collection (cardiorespiratory fitness testing, actigraphy data collection and analysis, structured interviews on mental health, trauma history, perceived discrimination), and assisting with community engagement tasks as needed. The role works closely with the post‑doctoral fellow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of experience in an academic research setting.
  • Experience working with a diverse research team and interacting with diverse participant groups.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of research protocols, data collection, and analysis.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
