Overview

Sumptuous Locks is a Natural Hair salon that specializes in locking hair. Our approach is holistic: good health is good hair. We provide a wealth of services for Sisterlocks, microlocs, instant locs, interlocs, traditional locs, and Natural Hair. We are a growing salon and currently seeking a Salon Manager to serve as an integral part of our team.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the calendar of appointments, meetings, and events
• Organizing and updating key documents
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff on policies, procedures, and expectations (including onboarding and offboarding processes)
• Creating and implementing administrative systems and procedures that ensure the organization and success of Sumptuous Locks
• Troubleshoot reservation system issues, modify Client Profiles, optimize appointments to fit business needs, and review notes to ensure clients’ needs are met
• Ensure client information is entered with accuracy and timeliness
• Rebook appointments during checkout while addressing the client by name
• Optimize and maximize appointments with the reservation system and ensure timely communication with Customer Service
• Lead supervisorial and team meetings
• Manage the opening/closing of the salon each day
• Maintain cleanliness to the highest standards
• Manage employee and client schedules (GenBooks knowledge a big plus)
• Organize and execute shop flow between clients and staff in a positive manner
• Serve as subject matter expert in reservation system
• Inventory management and ordering of salon supplies
• Coach stylists on consultations with clients
• Promote retail products
• Help manage revenue objectives and staff goals
• Daily content uploads to social media and engagement with clients on reviews
• Interact with clients and staff consistently
• Research new salon technology and developments
• Coordinate special training sessions with staff

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience working for an organization
• High School diploma or GED (required)
• BA / BS in Business Administration or similar degree (preferred)
• Human resources skills and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience with Canva and Quickbooks is preferred
• Retail experience is also preferred
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram)
• Excellent client relationship skills including clear communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and ability to take direction
• High standards of professionalism, dependability, pride in work, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Formal stylist certification is a plus
