Job Summary
We are looking for a District Manager to manage Live Goods Merchandising for Green Circle Growers in the Rochester, NY area.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain each store in the district, ensuring that all areas of merchandising are executed in front apron, garden center, monster rack, A‑frame, HPA, plant rack, and inside store according to Merchandising Guides and instructions from the Merchandising Operations Manager.
- Maintain constant communication with the Regional Manager, providing all information shared by the Merchandising Operations Manager and the Regional Manager to seasonal merchandisers.
- Over‑communicate with the Regional Manager, merchandisers, and store associates, building positive relationships with district staff such as store managers, assistant managers, department heads, and garden associates.
- Ensure all stores in the district are walk‑ready at all times, including price signage, general merchandising, and the neatness of garden, HPA, and plant rack areas.
- Provide weekly pictures of each managed store to the Regional Manager and Merchandising Operations Manager.
- Manage the hourly merchandising labor budget, keeping it within monthly limits and implementing savings whenever possible.
- Train seasonal merchandisers, equipping them with tools and knowledge to maintain a functional, walk‑ready garden center. Guide them in following store layouts, using merchandiser apps to record culls, empty carts, and review orders.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation.
- Availability for weekends in May and June and the following holidays (Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July).
- Self‑motivated with a flexible job schedule.
- Ability to lift/pull over 50 pounds.
- Enjoyment of outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills.
