Technical Solutions Engineer – Healthcare

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically adept Technical Solutions Engineer to join our growing team. This role bridges the gap between technology and clinical application—leveraging deep technical knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and business acumen to design and deliver impactful solutions for healthcare customers. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, customer‑facing environment and excels at translating complex technologies into measurable clinical and operational benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consultative Pre‑Sales Support: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify customer needs, propose tailored technical solutions, and support RFQ/RFP responses.
  • System Design & Integration: Develop and implement networking, connectivity, and integration solutions for medical and healthcare technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, servers, APIs, HL7, etc.).
  • Product Demonstrations & Installations: Configure, install, and test systems to ensure seamless performance and alignment with hospital IT and clinical workflows.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject‑matter expert on healthcare technologies—spanning patient monitoring, communications, and alarm management systems.
  • Customer Engagement: Present technical and clinical value propositions to diverse stakeholders including biomedical engineers, clinicians, IT leaders, and executives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful deployment, training, and post‑installation support.
  • Compliance & Security: Maintain awareness of healthcare IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, The Joint Commission, CMS).

Qualifications

Education (required or strongly preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or Business with a technical or healthcare emphasis.

Experience

  • 3–5 years in technical sales, biomedical engineering, or healthcare technology roles.
  • Proven experience working in clinical environments (hospital IT, facilities, or clinical operations).
  • Understanding of hospital purchasing processes, vendor qualification systems, and the healthcare customer journey.

Technical Knowledge

  • Medical and healthcare technologies: patient safety, alarm management, clinical communication, or patient monitoring.
  • Networking and integrations: TCP/IP, VLANs, servers, client PCs, APIs, HL7.
  • Familiarity with IT security and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in system installation, configuration, and translating customer requirements into technical implementations.

Sales & Business Acumen

  • Strong solution‑selling and consultative sales capabilities.
  • Ability to link product features to clinical outcomes and financial value.
  • Experience developing proposals, technical presentations, and supporting RFQs/RFPs.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Organized, persistent, and capable of managing multiple projects and long sales cycles.
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional and customer‑facing teams.

Certifications (preferred)

  • CBET – Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician
  • CHTM – Certified Healthcare Technology Manager
  • Network+, CCNA, or equivalent networking certification
  • PMP or CAPM – Project Management certification

$115k base + strong bonus
