Bergen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct positions in the division of Criminal Justice. Below are the disciplines we are currently hiring for and the requirements for each.

The Bergen Community College Department of Criminal Justice and Legal provides a foundation for understanding the key components of criminal justice, homeland security, and emergency management. The department is dedicated to promoting critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills necessary for careers in public service.

The professional studies Associate of Science degree (A.S.) criminal justice option prepares students to transfer into the junior year of a baccalaureate program in criminal justice or a related area. It provides a balanced and comprehensive overview of the nature and structure of the criminal justice system. Students will develop competency in interpersonal and group interactions. Career opportunities include Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement agencies, Federal, State Court/Judiciary, Federal, State, County and Private Correctional facilities, Corporate and Private Security firms.

Courses and Requirements

  • Criminal Justice
  • Criminal Law
  • Criminology
  • Required: Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and at least one year college teaching experience.

Rates and Benefits

  • Adjuncts with a Master7s receive $960 per credit.
  • Tuition Waiver for BCC courses for themselves or their dependents
  • ABP and 403b
