Position Summary

Reporting to the Sales and Service Manager, the Studio Golf Instructor will provide world‑class service by engaging every customer, achieving key performance indicators, organizing clinics, developing custom lesson plans, and maintaining operational excellence in the Studio area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage every customer and deliver world‑class service by applying PGA TSS service behaviors.
  • Achieve KPIs including lessons taught, booking percentage, and clinic participation.
  • Use technology such as Trackman, Sam Putt Lab, USchedule, and Microsoft Office to provide instruction.
  • Grow business by attracting new clients, fostering long‑term relationships, and keeping the schedule fully booked.
  • Organize and execute clinics and events to foster community engagement and skill development.
  • Develop custom lesson plans tailored to each player’s needs and goals.
  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust training methods as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of front‑end operations such as returns, exchanges, gift cards, and loyalty program awards.
  • Assist in maintaining Studio area (Simulators, Components Drawer, & Putting Green) merchandise standards at a premiere visual level.
  • Ensure Studio area equipment and supplies are always maintained and operational.
  • Maintain Studio area in a clean, professional presentation at all times.
  • Maintain in‑depth product knowledge of various golf clubs and explain features, benefits, and differences to customers.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance across all departments.
  • Stay up to date on upcoming merchandising promotions and marketing events to maintain a strong merchandising presence throughout the life cycle of a promotion.
  • Champion products and services offerings and inform, educate, and promote offerings to customers.
  • Provide consistent feedback to Manager on operational and merchandising opportunities to maintain best‑in‑class customer experience.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certification: Only PGA Members and Apprentices in good standing are eligible. Must maintain good standing and provide proof of membership.
  • Communication: Strong listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer: Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organization: Ability to organize multiple priorities to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2+ years of golf teaching preferred; experience with Trackman, Sam Putt Lab, and club building highly preferred.
  • Working Conditions: Capable of standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, moving throughout the store, and lifting 30 lb. boxes overhead.
  • Schedule: Must maintain flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to quickly learn business acumen with appropriate training.
  • Accountability: Demonstrate strong self‑accountability and proactive drive for results.
