Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Albany, Georgia (31701) – Georgia nursing jobs

• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45pm – 7:15am), every other weekend, rotating with permanent staff
  
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
  
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800
  
• Assignment Duration: 17 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 4/13/2026)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) – Georgia or compact state
  
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience in a high-acuity hospital setting
  
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
  
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
  
• Experience with diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psych patients
  
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system preferred
  
• Ability to manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
  
• Strong commitment to patient safety, satisfaction, and quality healthcare
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver primary nursing care to diverse acute medical and post-surgical patients
  
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including dialysis nurses and CNAs
  
• Provide wound care, monitor for DVTs, and manage chronic and acute conditions
  
• Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH 6.1
  
• Uphold strict attendance and hospital safety policies
  
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning
  
• Rotate shifts with permanent staff and work every other weekend
