Job Details:

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge in respiratory care and assigned patient care areas

• Administer competent care through airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy

• Provide standard respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, and arterial punctures

• Perform all aspects of airway management including aspiration, tracheostomy care, tube changes, and intubations/extubations

• May work with Carolina Air Care to transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals

• May perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, and blood glucose monitoring

• When working with ECMO, manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support

• May be required to work on-call days, nights, weekends, and holidays

• Perform comprehensive ventilator care including setup, verification, and specialized ventilator modes

• Must be able to work with NICU Level III or Level IV, PICU Level I environments

• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required

• Current RRT certification by NBRC required

• Must have ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or advanced practice certificate for moderate sedation

• Graduation from accredited Respiratory Therapy program required

• Temp to perm position with local candidates reviewed first

• Function independently with minimal supervision
