Med/Surg RN Job Details

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio or compact state
  
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  
• Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or rehabilitation nursing
  
• Experience with EPIC EMR systems
  
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans
  
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
  
• Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital guidelines and clinical protocols
  
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
  
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient rehabilitation programs
  
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
  
• Delegate tasks appropriately and provide direction and training to ancillary staff
  
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members
  
• Foster a positive, efficient work environment through professionalism and teamwork
