Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital-based Cardiac Stepdown unit
- Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts are required, with preference given but subject to operational needs
- Care for cardiac stepdown patients, with progressive care experience preferred but not required
- ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments required during orientation
- Qualivis – Lotus is used for hour tracking
- Responsibilities include providing specialized care to cardiac stepdown patients
- Must work at least every other holiday as scheduled
- Badge pickup and onsite fingerprinting are required prior to start
- Completion of pre-employment and annual online modules is required
- Nurses are temporarily exempt from nicotine testing requirements
- Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return for a new assignment for at least one year after their previous end date with the facility
- Assignments at any location with this health system cannot exceed 18 consecutive months without a 6-month break
Requirements
- Active permanent OH or compact RN license in hand
- Minimum 18 months of recent permanent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required and must be current
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation with two attempts allowed
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisory source in the specialty
- No open legal cases or active license issues accepted
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
